What to Wear to a Winter Wedding

Winter weddings though at first may seem challenging are actually a really fun opportunity to wear fabrics with more texture and embellishment.

Dorothy Perkins

How many occasions do we get to wear velvet appropriately? Here and now is the time! Check out these beautiful options. Appliqued embellishments are huge this year (as opposed to separate jewelry) - so the more jewels, pearls, sparkles ther better. Also, rich jewel tones like emerald, ruby or  midnight blue always look lovely this time of year.

The weather shouldn't hinder your shoe options too much, unless for some reason they are making you trek through the snow. Just make sure you have the arm of a lovely gentlemen (or lady!).

Giuseppe Zanotti

Obviously, you will want to wear tights so you don't freeze your ass off. Colored tights will be more festive and fashion-forward than black or flesh colored. If you don't feel comfortable with such a bold look, you can choose sheer instead of opaque tights in a similar color but a few shades darker or lighter. An easy trick to picking tights is looking at the color of the lining of your dress or skirt. Such as the deep magenta you can see peeking out in the above purple Asos dress.
